Automobile Accidents
1. Contact police if someone has been hurt or you suspect criminal activity (such as drunk driving).
2. Move your vehicle out of traffic, if possible.
3. Exchange information with other driver(s). Avoid discussing the accident, including who’s at fault.
- Name(s), address(es), telephone number(s) of drivers involved
- Year, make, model and licence plate numbers of all cars involved
- Insurance companies and policy numbers
- Names and phone numbers of witnesses
4. If there is significant property damage and/or your vehicle is too damaged to drive, have it towed to a Collision Reporting Centre. Take your driver’s license, ownership, and auto insurance liability slip.
